Resolution No. 69-172
RESOLUTION RE NEW PUBLIC ROAD CONNECTION
TO FREEWAY BETWEEN SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAIL-
ROAD AND EDGAR SLOUGH (ROAD III - BUT 99}
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Butte County entered
into a Freeway Agreement with the State of California, Department
of Public Works, Division of Highways, on April 30, 1951, relating
to that certain portion of State Highway Route 99 in Butte
County between Oroville Wye and Centerville Road; and
WHEREAS, at that time the area between Edgar Slough. and
the Southern Pacific Railroad was undeveloped with no public road
connections; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Church of Chico plans to develop
a church, school, apartments and other facilities in this area; and
WHEREAS, this development is advantageous to the economy
of Butte County; and
~iEREAS, the proposed development requires public access
to the freeway; and
WHEREAS, Section 100.2 of the Streets and Highways Code
requires the adoption of a resolution by the California Highway
Commission consenting to a connection with any freeway of a new
public road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, that the California
Highway Commission be requested to adopt a resolution consenting
to a new, temporary, at-grade public road connection to the east
side of State Highway Route 99, approximately 1,000 feet south
of Edgar Slough, subject to this connection being closed and
access being furnished via frontage road at the time Route 99
is constructed as a full freeway.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
.County of Butte, State of California, this 14th day of October,
1969, by the following vote:
