HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-199~ •Sv ~O. :*A• ;CG; 8u~. ~~,~{' a ~: r 4i~'. ., .. ~~• BOARD OF 'SUPERVIS'OR COUNTY' OF BUTTE, ;STATE OF CAL..IFORIti IA 69-194 CONSOLIDATED Resolutions No. and 69-199 As Amended RESOLUTION CONCERNING SALARIES AND COMPENSATION OF BUTTE COUNTY OFFICIALS WHIItEAS, the Grand Jury has reported on the need for increases in salaries for the supervisors, district attorney and auditor of the County of Butte; and WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors finds that a need exists for increased salaries and compensation, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, as follows: That an amendment to the Government Code, Section 28216, be recommended to read as follows: "28126. County of twenty-sixth class In a county of the 26th class the officers shall receive as compensation for the services required of them by law or by virtue of their offices the salaries and fees fixed pursuant to the charter of the county, except that the following shall receive as compensation for such services the following sums: (a) The auditor, Foy teen Thousand Dollars ($14,000.00) {b) The district attorney, Twenty Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars C$22,500.00) a year. He shall not engage in private practice of law and shall devote all his time and attention during business hours to the duties of his office. (c) Each supervisor, Nine Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($9,600.00) for all services performed by him as supervisor, member of Board of Equalization, or in any other capacity, and each supervisor shall be provided transportation for all his official duties, or shall receive mileage at the rate of ten cents ($0.10) for each mile actually traveled within the county in the performance of his official duties, or in going to or from any meeting of said board when traveling by automobile and all actual and necessary traveling expenses when traveling on county business outside the county. (d) Grand jurors in the superior court shall receive Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each days attendance and ten cents ($0.10) for each. mile actually traveled in attend- ing court as such jurors. Such per diem and mileage allowance shall be paid to grand jurors for attendance at meetings of conunittees appointed by the Foreman of the Grand Jury and to grand jurors making individual investigations when such investigations are authorized in writing by the foreman. Trial jurors in the superior court shall receive Five Dollars ($5.00) for the first days attendance at court and Seven Dollars ($7.00) for each succeeding days attendance, together with fifteen cents ($0.15) for each mile traveled in attending court as such jurors, one way only." BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of legislation, as it pertains to the auditor and district attorney, is January 4, 1971. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this board forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Fred Marler, Senator of the State of California, and the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of California.
