WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 62-5 and Resolutz.on No. 68-196,
this Boa~'d of Supervisors has established a procedure to az~nual~.y
review the salaries paid to employees of the County of Butte; and
WH~REAS, The Board of Su.pervisors find it to be in the
pub~.ic interest to attract and retain qual.ified employees in the
County service; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this purpose, the com-
pensation and benefit programs of the County must remain competitive
and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE BE ZT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
o~ the County o~ Butte, State o~r Cali~'ornia that rates of pay and
fringe benefzts of County employees shal~. henceforth be determined
with due consideration to t~ae following:
l. The rates of pay for comparable work under comparable
working conditiazzs in the l.abor markets in which the
County normally recruits.
a. For those classe~ of positions ~ecruited in the
local labor market; wage data co~lected ~rom
agencies af the State of California, the County of.
Yuba, the Cities of Chico and Orov'i11e, the Chico
Unified SchooJ. District and representati~re 1oca1

private employers.
b. For those classes of positions recruited on a
state-wide basis which are unique to government;
vrage date collected from agencies of the S~ate of
California, the cou~.ties o~ Humboldt, Flacer, San~.a
Cx~uz, San Luis Obispo, Shasta, Yuba and Yolo, the
Cities of Chico and Orovi.lle, and the Chico Unzfied
