WHEREAS, this Board has been made aware of A.C.A.
11,
WHEREAS, A.C,A, lI would add Section 9.5 to Article
9 ot the Constitution of the State of California, and wau~d
read as follows:
"Sec. 9.5. No person who knoraingly and wilfully
advocates th.e over~hrow of the Government of the
United States or the state by lawless action, where
such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing
imrainent la~wless action and is Iikely to in.cite
or produce such action, shall hold any office or
employment at the University of California.
No employee of the Universi~y of California shall,
wzthout the permzssion of the Regents of the
ilniversity of Califarni.a, use in any manner the name
ot th.e UniYrersity o~ Galifornia, or any abbrev~.ation,
or any name of which these words are a part, in
connection with activities of any type which are not
included in his assigned duties at the university.
WHE~S this Board strongly believes that no one
employed by' the University of Cali~ornia should be all.owed ~o
continue in such. employment where they have incitEd to riot,
or have advoeated the violen~ overthrow of aur constitutional
republic.
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

and respectfully supparts the placing of
A.C.A. 11 upon the ballot and i~s eventual
adoption by the electorate of this state.
