WtIEREAS, on the 16th day of F'ebruary, 1970, the
President declared a"major disaster" in the State of
Cal~.fornia under the provisions of Public Law 875, 81st
Gongress, as amended; and
WHEREAS, But~e Cown.ty is a public entity within
said State;
NOW, T`HEREF0~2~, Be It Resolved, by the Board of
5upervisors o~' Butte County that the Office o~ Emergency
Preparedness be and hereby is reqtv.ested to arrange to
have the appropriate Federal Agency perform the fol.lowing
emergency work essentia~ to the health, safety or welfare
o£ the people and.property ot this public entity:
Remove debris from creeks and ~ivers, emergency & restorative
repair of levees, slides, roads, highways,
bridges and all other emergency work essential
to hea~~h. oand public welfare.
This body certifies that, to the bes~ of its knowledge
and belief, the requested work is eligible under Publ~.c Law 875,
81st Congress, as amen.ded, and agrees to (a) provide without
cost to the TTnited States a11 lands, easements, and rights-o~-
way necessary for accomplishment of tI~e approved work; and (b)
}iold and save the United States free £rom damages due to the
approved worke
