This agreement, by and between the Coun~y of Butte,
hEreinafter referred ~o as Bu~~e, and W. A. Farrel.l, Chi~f
Surplu5 Property Of~icer, Department of Education, S~ate of~ '
California, hereinafte~ referred to as S~a~e•
The parties here~o agree a.s fo~.lows:
1, But~te shall modify its faod commodity program
so as to eli.mina~~ the "unmet need" concept
appl~.cabl.e to welfare rec~.pient ho~sehol.ds, so ~hat
Bu~te' s foad commod~.ty program. shal.l be in com-
~ pliance with the Stat~ P~an.
z, S~ate sha11 pay to Bu~te ~he sum of $15,d00 wi~hin
34 days of execution of this agreemen~ to assist
Butte in ~xpansion of Bu~te's commodity ~ood
program. It is unde~s~ood and ag~'e~d tha~ th~
amaunt of $15,000 is not adequa~e to cover the
additianal expenses inc~rred by Butte in expanding
its faod commod~.ty program, and in the event -~hat
additional funds are made available by tl~ Fed~ra~
Depar~ment of Agriculture ta assist food commodi~.y
distiril~ution, S~ate shal.l pay to B~tte an additianal
$15,040.
3, It is ~urther understood and agreed that th~s
agreement sha~l remain in eff~ct until June 3a,
I970, and sha.11 have no ~arce ard eff ect therea~ter.
The parties hereto further agree that Butte shal~.
