burden from property owners to other sources of revenue; and
WF3EREAS, this Board favors and supports any measure
which would result in an equitable reduction of the total
tax burden on al7.:the ci~eizens of Butte County; and
Wi~~R~AS, the CTA~CSAC initiative does not require
that the local property tax burden be decreased as State
Assistance to welfare and education programs is increased;
and
~TiiEREAS, the CTA-CSAC initiative would, therefore,
encourage a net increase in the total tax burden on Butte
County citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED tkzat this Soard is
opposed to t~te CTA-CSAC in,itiative;
