WHEREAS, this Board has been made aware of the
provisions of Assembly Bill 908;
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 908 would impose an excise
tax on every governmental agency in this State which
operates an eI.ectrical utila.ty business;
WHEREAS, 90% ot the proceeds of this tax would be
distributed to the school districts within the service
area o~ the agency producing the electricity;
WHEREAS, this Board is in favor of this proposed
legislation;
NOW, THERE~'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this Board of
Supervisors as ~o].l.ows:
1. This Board strongly supports Assembly Bill 908
and respectfully urges its passage by the Legislature,
2o Copies of this resolution be sent to Honorable
Ray Johnson, Assemblyman, Honorable Fred Marler, Senator
and to such other parties as this Boa~d directs.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of 5upervisors of
the County of Butte, State of California, this 7th
