Resolution Supporting Enactment of 1970 Senate Bill No. 305,
an act to amend certain code sections pertaining to State
reimbursement to Counties for loss of revenues by reason of
partial exemption of business inventories from taxation.
WHEREAS, there is now pending, in the legislature~ Senate Bi.ll
No. 305 and Assembly Bill No. 173~ both purporting to provide adequate
State Reimbursement to counties for the loss of revenues from the paxti.a].
exemption of business inventoxies~ and
WHEREAS, AS 173, as amended March 19, ].970, has not provided
for reimbursement to the County of Butte for its total loss of $209,852.7I
for 1969-70 nor has it provided an equitable fosmula for rei.mbursi.ng
counties for their tax losses in future yeaxs, and
WHEREAS~ ~B 305~ as amended April 2, 1970, provides for a fair
and equitable State re9.mbursement to coun~ies for the total loss of
business inventory tax revenues £or the J.9b9-70 year and all future years,
NOW, THEREFOf?E~ B~ IT A~SOLV~D, that the Board of 5upervisors of
the County of Butte advocates the enactment o£ Senate Bill No. 305, in its
current form; and expresses its opposition to Assembly Bill No. 173 unless
it is furtYaer amended to provide the same equitable and fair conditions
as provi.ded by Senate Bill No. 305.
