H.R.13984 and its companion bill in the Senate, Senate Bill 2948,
W~IEREAS, this legislation provides for sharing of revenue on
a block grant basis, and wou~d not require th~ normal sharing formula,
WHEREAS, the States and other local entities are in dire
need of additional financing in order to effect continued strong
local government,
NOW, 'i`HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this Board of Supervisors
as follows:
1. This Board strongly endorses H.R. 13984 and Senate
Bi~~ 2948 and respectfully recommends to the Congress
of the United States that this legislation be enacted into
law.
2, That a copy o~ this resolution be sent to Honorable
Alan Cranston, Senator, and Honorable George Murphy,
Sena~or, Honorable Harold T. "Bizz" Johnson, Member of
the House of Representatzves, and to such othe~ parties
as this Board direcfis,
PASSED AND ADOPT~D by ~he Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of Ca~ifornia, ~his 28th day of April, I970, by the
