RESOZUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 68-51
CONCERNING SUBDIVISION STANDARDS
WAEREAS, this Board has heretofore established certain subdivision standards
by Resolution No. 68-51.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Su.pervisors of the Countiy of Butte,
State of California, that said Resolution 68-51 be, and the same is hereby amended in
the following particulars:
1. Item "G" under Section TrT is replaced with: "G. AlI cul-de-sac roads
sha11 have a minimum of 40 feet eurtting radius."
2. Item °11" under Sub-section I., Secri.on III~ is replaced with: "l1.
Sacked concreee~ formed s~.andard SCa~e Highway concrere headwalls, or gal.vanized flared
end sections, properly engineered, shalZ be insta3.led at the entrance and exie of road
culverts where required by the Department of Public Works."
3. I~em '"J" under Secrion III, add a senrence as fo7.lows: "A11 roads to be
dedicated to the CounCy £or maintenance shall be surfaced with AC paving with the
excep~ion o£ tihe most remote subdivisions.°
G~. Item "5" is added to Sub-section "K" of Section T~I as follows: "(5)
Road construction and drainage improvements sha11 be the same as £or regullar dedicated
roads with the exception of roadway widths, paving? grade and cotapacti.on as show~ ort
the Cypical secCion for unimproved roads (RS-7)."
5. Item ~~D" under Section IV is replaced with: "D. Fees for checkin.g con-
s~ruc~ion plans sha11 be $25.00 plus $2.00 per 100 feet or fraction thereof of new
roadwaq consCrucCion; however~ disCances shall be measured from Che cenCerline of
the existing s~reet to the end of the new roadway consCruction. ImprovemenCs along
existing streets consisting of new curb and gutter and paving between existing pavement
and new curb and gutter will not be subject to plan checking fees. Fees shall be paid
at the time plans are submitted to the Department af Public Works for checking."
6. Item ~'F" under Section IV is replaced with: '~F. Fees for plan checking
and inspection of unimproved road subdivisions shall be the same as ~or improved
road subdi.va.sion.~~

` ` '7. Item 1QJ1° is,.~ded to Section zV to read as f`ows; "J'. Parcel Maps9
required by law to be filed in the manner as for subdivisions, musC be accompanied
by the same fees as in the case o~ subdivisions."
S. Ttem "K`~ is added to Section IV as follows: "K. For Bond Act proceed-
ings~ the fee prescribed under Item "E" above shall be 3% rather ~han 2%."
9. Ztem "G", is added to Section V~ as followso "C. Centerline inonuments
on unimproved private road subdivisions may be offset to radius returns or oefier '
approved locations agreed to by the engineer and ~he Depa~tment of Public Works."
10. Standard S-6 an.d S-7 appearing in Appendix IIT of said Resolution are
replaced by the proposed standards S-6 and 5-7 ateached hereto as Appendix "A".
11. Standard RS-7 appearing in Appendix II of said Ttesolution 68-51 is re-
placed by the proposed Standard RS-7 ateached hereto as Appendix "B".
12. Section II-B of Appendix VIII of said Resolution 68-51 is replaced bp
the foZlowing:
"B. Casa.ng and Sealing.
~~1. 2he annular space between the well casing and the drilled ho7.e
wall shall be effecCively sealed to a depth of 50 feet. I£ an
iazpervious formatiion is encountered between 50 feee and 55 £eet,
the seal shall be exCended into such stratum.
~~2. In unconsolidated or mving matierial where the cable tool method
is used~ a conductor casing shall be installed to the required
sealing depth and the annular ring between the conductor casing
an.d inner casing shall be sealed. Where the rotary method o~
driJ.l.ing is used, the conductor casing may be left in place or
w£thdrawn as tE~e sealing maCerial is placed.
"3. Gravel Packed Wells. In we11s constructed without a conductor
casing, the gravel pack shall ~erminate at the base of the sea1.
Gravel fi11 pipes may be insta7.led in the sea1. In wells con-
sCructed raith a conductor casing~ aliowing tihe gzavel to extend to
the top of the we17., the annular space between the conductor casing
and the wa11 of the drilled hole shall be sealed to the required
depth.
°4. The minimum thickness of steel conductor casin.g shall be 1/4 inch
for singJ.e casing or ~io, 10 U. S. Standard Gauge for doubl.e casing.

"5. The min_i~~um Chickness of the required se~ -shall be two xnches'
and noC less tihan three times the size of that largest coarse
aggregaCe used in the sealing material.
"6. Sealing material and placement sealing matexial shall consist ,.
o~ the neat cemenC~ cement graut, puddLed clay~ or concrete.
Composition of sealing maeerial shall conform to Department of"
Water Resources Bulletin ~~74, Wa~er Well Standards, State of
California. The sealing material shall be applied in one con-
tinuaus operation from the bottom o£ the interval ~o be sealed
to the tog.
"7. We11 casing shall be of a diameter sufficient to provide for
production of required flows. In addition, well casing sha11 be
of a gauge and material adequate to proeecC waCer quality and to
withstand all forces ~o which it is subjected during and after
installa~ion.
"8. We11 casings and casing joints sha11 be watertight to a depth of '
5d ~eet."
