per five we~fare workers in the State Weifare program.
WHII2~AS, this unnecessary requirement increases ~he cost
of welfare administration both to the 5tate of Califo~nia and to
the County of Butte.
WHEREAS, this ratio of one stipervisor p~r five welfara
workers is not required in th.e f ederal regulations,
NOW, TH~REFOI2E, BE IT RESOLVED by this Board of Super-
visoxs:
1. That the Board requests that the State regulations
requiring one supervisor per five welfare~:°workers be
eliminated.
2. That each county be al~.owed to organize its Welfare
Department consistent with good management.
3. T'hat a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Honorable
Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of California,
Honorable Fred Marler, S~ate Senator, Honorable Ray
Johx~.son, Assemblyman, Honorable Lucian B. Vandegrift,
Secxetary, Human Relations Agency of the State of Calitornia
and such other pareies as the Board may direct.
PASSED ANA ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
