HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-122WHEREAS, it is desirable fha~ the policy of the Board of Supervasors of the County of Butte in relation to method of travel by county officers and employees on county business be revised, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Section 2 of Resolutian 65-130 be amended to read as fo~lows: Sec~ion 2. Method of travel. County cars sha~1 be used whenever possible and to the extent available for travel wi~hin the Courxty. Each person who uses a privately owned vehicle on county business sha11 f~le an affidavit certifying that there is insurance in effect in the sum of not less than $15,000.00 for bodily injury to one person, $30,000.00 for bodily injury to two or more persons, and $10,000 for property damage. Such affidavits shall be on £i1e with the Auditor. For travel outside the County, if the destination is under 400 miles, travel may be per~ormed by public carrier, by county car, or by private car i~ a county car is not available. If the destination is over 400 miles, travel sha11 no~mally be performed by public carrier. Exceptions may occur when schedules make this impractical, where more than one:•;person is traveling to ~he same destina- tion, or where law enforcement officers and probation officers are transporting persons in custody. Departmen~ heads ~nay requisition travel by public carrier to the Purchasing Of~ice.
