Unitied School Distric~ of Yuba and Bu.tte Counties, California,
have called and ordered to be held in said district on the 3rd
day o~ November, 1970, special district~elections, and have
requested this board to order consolidation of sa~.d spec~al
district elections with the statewide Gen.eral ~lection to be
held November 3, 1970,
NOW, 'THEREFORE BE TT ORDERED AND RESOLVED BY THE B~AR]]
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF C.ALIFORNL9, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the special dis~rict election to~be held in
the Marysville Joir~t Unitied School District on November 3, 1970,
at which election there Sr~aii be submitted to the qualified
electors of the District the measure referred to as "district
measure" of said distric~t, is to be consol.xdated w~.th th.e s~ate-
wide election to be held on November 3, 1970..
2. That tlze returns of said. special dist~ict election
for the Marysville Joint Unified School District shall be can-
vassed, or caused to be, by the County Clerk of Butte County
and certified to the governing board of the district. Further,
said consolidated:,special district election Qf the Ma~ysville
Joint Uni~ied School Bistrict shall be held in all respects as
though they were only one election.
3. That the expenses of the elections attributable to
said districts shall be charged to said districts resgectively.

RESOZUTZOIV OF THE GOVERNING SOARD OF
MARYSVTLLE JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOI. DISTRICT
OF YUBA AND BUTTE COUN'TIES, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, this Governing Board of Marysville
Joint Unified School Disf.rict has heretofore dul.y adopted
a resoJ.ution and ord~r of election relating to a school
election in this District, at which will be submitted
to the qualified electors of the District a measure to
increase th.e maximum tax rate in this District as herein-
after set forth; and
WHEREAS, the State of California General
Election will be held in Butte County and throughout the
State of California on November 3, 1970, and it is the
desire o~ this Governing Board that said school election
be consolidated with said General Election; and
WHEREAS, the territory of the District within
Butte Coun~.y comprises a portion of Butte County Election
Precinct No. 119 established for said General Election
and it is desirable to consoZidate said election as ~o
said portion of said precinct which wi11 be the same for
both elections, pursuant to the California Elections Code;
NOW, TH~REFORE, BE ZT RESOI,VED AS FOLLOWS:
I. An election is hereby ordered and the same
sha11 be held in the District on Tuesday, November 3,
1970, at which election sha11 be submitted to the qualified
electors of the District the following measure (hereinafter
called the "distric~ measure"), to wit:
Shall the maximum tax rate of Marysville
J'oint t7nified School District of Yuba and Butte
Counties be increased from ~.he present maximum
rate of $2.66 per $100 of assessed valuation to
$3.81 per $100 of assessed•valuation (being an
i.ncrease of $1.15 per $100 of assessed valuation)
to provide funds for the repair, reconstruction
or replacement of Marysville High Schoo~, Alicia
Intermediate School, Brophy School, Cordua School,
Mary A. Covillaud 5chool, Loma Rica School, Oregon
House School and Rose Sar School buildings; said
rate to be in effect in said district for the years
1971 - 1972 to and including 1975 - 1976, being
such length of time as will permit raising suffi-
cient funds by district taxation for the repair,
reconstruction, or replacement o£ said school build-
ings, all in aacordance with the plan of the govern-
ing board of saicl district on file in its o~fice?
2. The Board o£ Supervisors of Butte County
is hereby requested to consent to and the County Superin-
tenden~ of Schools of Yuba County is hereby requestec3
to order the consolidation of said school election wa.th
the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3,
1970, insofar as the following descrfbed portion of the
nistrict is concerned, to wit: The territory of the
District comprising that portion of Butte County Election
Precinct No. 1I.9 as now established of record by filze
Soard of Supervisors ot Butte County. Said portion of
said Butte Caunty General Election Precinct is hereby

established as one special district election precinct,
constituting the en~ire area of the District w~thin Butte
County, and the Board of Supervisors of Butte County is
hereby requested to consent to the consolidation of sazd
school election with the State of California General
Election as to said special dzstrict precinct which lies
entirely within said designated Genera~ Election Precinet.
Said Board of Supervisors is further requested to provide
~hat within the territory affected by said order of con-
solidation the election precinct, polling place and voting
booths shall, in every case, be the same and there shall
be only one set of election officers in such precinct
~or both ot said elections.
3. Said Board of Superv~sors is further
requested to cause the district measure to be printed
upon the ballots to be used at said conso~idated school
eZection and General Election, within said territory
affected by said consolidation, including absent voter
ballots. Said Board of Supervisors is further requested
to order the County Clerk of said County (i) to set forth
rhe district measure on all sample ballots relating to
said General Electian and to be mailed to the qualified
electors of the District in said terri~ory affected by
said consolidation, and to mail to said qualified eZectars
of the District in said territozy said sample ballots
and also polling place cards signed by such County Clerk
relating to said consoZidated election and arguments '
(if any) relating to the district measure, all in the
time and in the form required by 1aw, and (ii) to provide

absent voter ballots fpr said Genera~ E~ection and said
school election consolidated thezewith for uee by quali-
fied elec~ors of the District in said territory affeoted
by said consolidation who may be entitled thereto, in
the manner provided by 1aw.
4. Said Board o~ Supervisors is hereby
further authorized to canvass or caused to be canvassed
the returns of said school election with respect to the
votes cast on the district measure in said territoxy
affected by said consolidation, and to certifX such
canvass of the votes cas~ for and against said district
measure to this Governing Board and to the Coun~y
Superintendent of Schools of Yuba County.
5. The Clerk of this Governing Board is
hereby authorized and directed to certify ta the due
a~option o~ this resolution and to transmit a copy
thereof so certified to the County Clerk of Butte Coun~y
and to ~he Board of Supervisors of sa~d County and
to the Yuba County Superintendent of Schools.
