PROPOSITION; PROVZDING FOR NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION;
AND CONSOLIDATING SAID SPECIAZ COUI3TY FOND EL~CTION
WITH THE GINERAL ELEGTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBEI2 3, 1970
WHEREAS, in the ,judgment of the Board o~' Supervisors
(the "board") of Butte County (the "county'~) i~ is necessary that
the funds of the county shall be expended for the purposes herein-
after set forth; and
WHBREAS, there are not sufficient funds in the treasury;
of the coun~.y available for said purposes, or any of ther:~, or in
the amount required therefo~, and it is necessary that funds in
additian to those on hand in the treasury of the county be raised
by the issuance and sale of bonds of ~.he county and to that end that
a special county bond election be held in accord.ance with law for
the purpose of submitting to the quali~ied electors of the county
the proposition of whether or not bonds of the county shall be issued
for the purposes hereinafter set forth, so that the proposition
of the issuance of said bonds may be submitted to the qualified
electors of the county at said election as herein prova.ded,
N4~nT, THEREFORE,. ~BE TT RESOLVED AND ORDER~D by the
Board of Supervisors of Butte County, as ~ollows:
Section l. A special county bond election be and
the same is hereby called to be held throughout Butte County
on Tuesday the 3rd day of Novembex, 1970, for ~he purpose of
subm~tting to the qualified electors of the coun~y the proposition
of incurring bonded indeb~edness of the county for ~ne purposes and
in the amount set forth in the following measure, ~o wit:

Sec~ion:.2, ta) The Board does hereby submit to the
qualified electors of the coun~y at the special county bond election
said coun~y measure for the ~ssuance o~ said bonds, and hereby
designa~es and refers to said measure in the : form herein-
above set fo~th as the measure ~o be set fo~th on the ballots
hereinafter prescribed for use at the speczal county bond election.
(b) The special county bond election sha11 be held and
cond~cted, and the votes thereat received and eanvassed, and the
returns thereof made and the result thereof ascertained and determined
as herein provided, and in al~ particulars not prescrzbed by this
resolution and order said electxon shall be held as near~y as
practicable in conformity with the election laws of the S~ate of
California and only quali£ied voters of the county may vote thereat.
(c) The special county bond election hereby called shall
be and is hereby co~soiidated with the State of Califo~nia General
Election to be held throughout the county on Tuesday, November 3,
1970, a11 as required by and pursuant to law; and ~he election
precincts, polling places and voting booths shall in every case be
the:same and there sha1l be only one set o~ election of~icers in each
of sach precincts. The election precincts, polling places and
officers of election for the special county bond elect~on shall be
~he same as those designa~ed for said General Electionin the notice
of polling places and elec~ion officers for said General Election to
be published by the County Clerk p~rsuant to law, to which no~ice
reference is hereby specifically made for a designation of the
precincts, polling places and election officers for the special
county bond election. The polls for said General Election and ~or
the,special county bond election hereby consolidated therewith shall

be opened at 7:00 A.M, on the date of said elections and sha11 be
kept open until 8:00 P.Mo of said day, when the polls shall be
c1o'sed, except as provided in Elections Code Section 14436,
(d) Only one form of ballot shall be used at said
~eneral Election and the special county bond elect~an hereby
consolidated therewi~h, which in addition to all other matters
required by law to be prin~ed thereon, sha11 state the measure set
for~h in section 1 hereof. Votomatic ballot cards are used at
said elections, except that absent voter bal~o~s shall be paper
bal~ots. Each voter to vote for ~he measure hereby submitted and ~or
incurring the bonded indebtedness therein stated shall punch ~he
ballot card in the hole after the words ''BONDS-YES" to the righ~
of said measure, and to vote against said measure and against
ineurring said indebtedness shall punch ~he ballot card in the hole
after the words "BONDS-NO"' to ~he right of said measure, except
~ha~ to vote in favor of the measure hereby submi~~ed and ta
authorize the incurring of the indebtedness in saa.d measure set
for.th, each absent voter shall stamp a cross (#) in the voting
square after the words "BONDS-YES" on the ballot to the righr of
said measure, and to vo~e against the measure hereby submi.tCed and
against the incurring of the indebtedness in said measure set
forth, each absen~ vo~er shall stamp a cross (+) in the vo~ing
square after the words "BONDS-NO'~ on the ballot to tl~e right of
said measure.
(e) The County Clerlc of the County shall supply ballots
and stationery and all other things necessary for the canduct of
said elections to the proper officers of election.
(f) The returns of said elect~.ons shall be made out and
signed by the election officers and sl~all be by them deposited
wi~h the County Clerk9 together with the bal].o~s cast at said
elections, and the said returns shall be canvassed or caused to be
canvassed by the board which shall declare the results o£ sai.d

elec~ion at the time and in the manner provided by law.
Section 3. The amount of bonds proposed ~o be issued
by the county, in the event that said County Bond Measure (A) shal~
carry at said election is $500,OOdo Said bonds sha11 beax znterest
at a rate or rates not exceeding seven percent per annum, payable
semiannually (except that infierest tor the first year af~er the
date of said bonds may be made payable at the end of said year)o
Any bonds issued under said Measure (A) shall mature ` within a
period not to exceed eigh~ years.
Sec~ion 4, Notxce of the special county bond election
herein provzded for shall be given by publication of this resolution
and order in the £ollowing named newspaper, to wi~: ~he
orovi~ze 2~lercury (which the board hereby finds and declares
to be a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in
the county), once a week for at least four (4) weeks prior to the
holding of the special county bond election, and the clerlc of the
board is hereby ordered and directed to cause this resolution and
o~der to be so published. No other notice of the election hereby
called need be given.
Section 5. This resolution and order shal]. take effect
immediately.
The foregoxn.g resolution and order was passed and adopted
by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, on ehe 18eh day , August , 1970,
