HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-187WHEREAS, the County of Butte is presently enforcing the provisions of the Uniform Building Code to apartment houses, hotels, and dwellings; and WHEREAS, the main purpose of the State Housing Law, the Uniform Build~.ng Code and building inspection is for the protection of ~the public health, safety, and gene~al welfare of the occu~ant'and the public; and WHEREAS, painting standards do not affect in any way the pro- tection of the publi.c heal.th, safety, and general welfare of the occupant and the public; and WHERE?,S, the pazn~in g standards as proposed by the Commission of Housing and Community Development would be impossible to enforce; and WHERFAS, the painting standards are superfluous and not in the realm of building standards; NOW, TFIEREFOR~, BE I'~ RESOLVEA that tne Butte County Board of Supervisors does hereby go on record as strenuously opposing the adoption of the minimum painting standards; and BE ZT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolu.tion be sent to legislative representatives of this County as weli as the State Department of Housing and Community Development, the State Di.vision of ~_- Building and Housing S~andards.
