HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-233WHEREAS, this board was grieved to learn of the death of GE(}RGE G. ORBERG, Butte County Veterans' Service Officer; and WHEREAS, GEORGE G. ORBERG served the County of Butte with disfi~nction and with unselfish devotion for over 24 yeaxs, continuous service with the exception of one year, 1951, when h~ was recalled to active duty during the Korean War, WHER~AS, GEORGE G. ORBERG served the County of Butte as Public Guardian tor 10 years in addition to his post as Veterans' Service O~ficer, _ WHEREAS,GEORGE G. ORBERG was active in several organiza- tions, serving as chairman ot the board ot the Creative Arts Center, a member of the board of the Concert Association, and the Chico Symphony. He was a member of Chico VFW Post 1555, Chico American Legion Post 17, and Chico Elks Lodge 423. He was a reserve deputy of the Butte County Sheriff's Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as fol~ows: 1. That said board hereby memoraiizes its appreciation of the meritorious services rendered to the County of Butte by GEORGE G. ORBERG du~ing his lifetime. 2. That the condolences and heartfelt sympathy of this board be extended to his sisters, Mrs. Marie Swanson, Mrs . Helen Johnson anct Mrs . Norma . Zu~walt, and tlzat the clerk of this board forward a certified copy of this resolution to them. RESOLUTION IN I~MORY 0~ GEORGE G. ORBERG 3.
