ARE[~T LEE OLSEN, Superintendent of the Du.rham Unified ScYiool
Distra.ct; and
WHEREAS, ARENT LEE OLSEN served as Superintendent of ~.he
Durham District for 4z years and was S~perintendent and principal
of Biggs Union High School for 22 years prior to his mvve to Durham;
WHII~EAS, ARENT` LEE OLSEN was active in several oxgan9.zations,
serving as past president of Phi Delta Kappa, Beta Zeta Chapter, of
Chico State College; past president of Small High School Athletics
Association, and an active memb~r of the California Associa~.ion ot
School Administrators, from which he had received his 20-year pin
award December 8 in San Diego.
WHER~AS, ARENT LEE OLSEN devo~ed his..li:fe to excellence in
education, and has long been considered one of the leading educators
iri this State.
NOW, TI~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the Caunty of Butte, State of Califom ia, as follows:
1. That said Board hereby memoralizes zts appxeciatiori
of the meritorious services rendered to the County
of Butte by ARENT LEE OLSII~t during his lifetime.
2. That the condolences and heartfel.t sy~.pathy of this
Board be extended to his wife Frances and that the
clerk of this Board forward a certified copy of this
resolution to her.
3. That the regular meeting of this Boarci held on
the ~.5th day of December, 1970, be adjourned in
memory of ARENT LEE OLSEN.
