COUNTY OF BTJ~TE, STAT~ OF CALTFORNIA
MAINTENANCE OF TR4FFIC SIGNALS
WHEREAS, The County ofi Butte has traffic signals installed at
various locations in the County; and
WHEREAS, The County does not k~ave adequate personnel or equipmen~
for the maintenance of s~ach tra~~ic signals;
NOW, TI~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED tha-~ the State of California, Division
of Highways, be request~d to maintain said signal system at an estimated cost
of' ~1 ,000 for th.e 197Q-71 fiseal year.
BE ZT FURTHER RESOLUED that the following "Save Harmless" provision
is approved by the Board in connection with such maintenance.
°' It is e~ressly understood and agraed by the County that the
State of California and its officers and its employees sha11:
not be answerable or accountable in.any manner for injuries
to or the d.eath of persons or for any dazuage to property re-
sulting from the operation of or t7te fai~.uxe to maintain the
traffic signals."
"~he County agrees to indemnify and save harmless the State o£
Calzfornia and its officers and employees from al1 sui-~s,
a~~ions or claims of any character brought as a consequence
of the operation of or the failuxe to maintain the traffic
signals."
BE IT FFJRTHER. RESOZVID that the County wi11 deposit s~'ficien~ funds
not -~o exceed ~1~Q00 with the Division of Highwa~s for the maintenance of said
signals during the 19'70-71 fiscal year.
