WHEREAS, there is presently no 'legal pr~gram vehic~e'
whereby e~~'ective legaI. servxces are being prova.ded to the rural. poo~;
and
WHEREASs a judica~~ program has been propos~d by bath the
S~ate Administ~ation and the S~ate Oftice af Economic Oppartuni~y; and
WHEREAS, said program has been givendue conside~ation by
this Board; and
WHEREAS, we do believe tha~ said pragram provides an effective
'too7,' for mobil.ization of ~he entire cammun~.~y' s legal resources
xn a concer-~ed effart ~o successfu~ly meet the individual needs of
the r~ral poor; and
WHEREASp w~ do b~liev~ that said program is so designed
~hat it upholds the dignity o~ the indiv~.duals far whom it is
designed to serve; f `
NOW, THEREFOREy BE IT RESOLVED:
1o That ~he B~tte County Board of .Supervisors daes approve and
endorse a judicare type program and respect~u.lly ~~ques~s that s~ch a
program be set up in Butte Cou~tyo
2o That copies of this resolution be sent ta the Hona~able
