1. s•dHE2Er15, the Butte Count,s Board of Supervisors is concerned with the
~,~~e11 bein~ of the youth of this area, ti•:e are asking ~our fu1Z support in eon-
tinuation o£ the £o].J.o~~~ing programs in 197~•
2. ?~yH~REAS, disadvantaged youth are in need of additional Neighborhood
Youth Corps pro~ra~ns for 197~-, it is deemed itaperative that the 1970 £~.x'st
supplemental apgropriations be continueci, and
3. 4~TflE~AS, total 1970 summer vacation t•rork experiences pravided by
participatin~ ag=ncies under the Dleighborhood Xouth Corps program in Butte
CountJ included 144 part-tirne posi~ions for ha.gh schoo~. students from dis-
advantaged hom~s, it is urgent that Gongress appropriate ].ike ~unds in
1971 as ir_ the 197Q Second Supplemental Act (?~ecreatzon Support ~one~), and
!~o :,~T~?Z~:45, it is importani; that sponsoring a~encies recezve noi;ification
in the second quarter or 1971. in order th~,t the area may properlv prepare
ior a very important 1971 su.~vner,
