of California, as followsa
1. Thae ~he assignmen~. dated ehe 18th day of May, 1971, of the agree-
ment be~ween ehe Staee of California, Department of Water Resources, and the
County nf Butte ~o the SCate of California, Department o£ Public Works, con-
cerning easement for road purposes and the maintenance of the bridge deck
surface, curbs and railings of Che Bidwell Bar Bridge, i.s hereby approved.
2. Tha~ Che Chairman of the Board is authorized to sign said assign-
ment on behalf of the County of Butte.
3. That the Clerk of th.is Board is authorized and instructed to
aCCach to said assignment a certified copy of this resoJ.uta.on.

WHEREAS, the State of California, acting by and through the I
Department of Public Works, interids to request the CaLifornia
High~ray Commission to adopt a portion of the Oroville-Quincy
Highway as a State highway pursuant to Section 81 of the Streets
and Highways Code; and
WEIEREAS, there is a suspension bridge commonly known as the
Bidwell Bar Bridge located on said ~roville-Quincy;Highway which
spans the Feather River immediately downstream from the confluence
of the Middle aztd 5outh Forks; and
WH~REAS, the County of Bv.tte and the State of California,
acting by and through the Department o£ Water Resources, entered
into an ag'reement (~~154502) dated Augus~ 3, 1965, which provided
that the Department o~ Water Resources would grant to the County
of Butte an easement for road purposes across said Bidwel~ Bar
Bridge; and
WHEREAS, said agreement of August~3, 1965, further provided
that said Department of Water Resources, at its own expense, would
maintain in perpetuity all portions of said Bidwell Bar Bridge
except the bridge deck surface, curbs and railings;~
NOW, THEREFORE, for value received, the County of Butte hereby
agrees to assign and transfer to the State of California, acting
by and through the Department of ~'ublic '47orks, upon the adoption
o~ a portion of the Oroville-Quincy Highway as a State highway
pursuant to Section 81 of the Streets and Highway Cade, a11 its
interest and rights under that certain agreement dated August 3,
1965, as i.t relates to the Oroville~Quincy Road and Bidwell Bar
Bridge between the County of Butte and tne Sta~e of California,
acting by and through the Department of Water Resourcesa
