Feather 12iver watershed, and
WHEREAS, ~he Oroville D~m was con.s~racted ~a provide constant
control of the water flow down the Feather River, and
WHEREAS, this flow has been so drastically reduced that only
wil~ows and sand bars exist where a mighty river use to, and
WHEREAS, through the consfiruc~ian of an appropriately designed
dam a portion of the Feather River can be res~ored to its near
natural state, and
WHEREAS, the restaration of a portion of the river woul d
aid the ecological balance of the area and provide an outstanding
recreational facility for the traveler and for citizens of adjacent
counties and cities, and
WHEREAS, this recreational attraction would restore both the
beauty and economy, to the area, t~at was lost as a result of the
~alif ornia Water Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the B~t~e County Board of Supervisors does
hereby resolve to request that the Governor ot the State of California
and the various State Departments assist with the restoratim of a
portion af the Feather River through the construction af a dam to
provide both ecological and economic balance for Butte County and its
citieso
