S,y ~ 12eso~ufion i RESOLUTION OF ZNTENTZON TO DECLARE ABANDONMENT OF CHINEBE CEMETERY AND TO DEDTCATE TT AS A PIONEII2 MEMORIAL PARK WHEREAS, there is within the boundaries of the County of Butte a cemetery known as the "Chinese Cemetery", which cemetery is described in Exhibit A and was historically utilized to inter persons of Chinese ancestry who resided in various mining communities of the County, including the City of Oroville and those former communities known as Bagdad and Lava Beds; and WHEREAS~ it appears that th.e said cemefiery is not a~ ~he p~esent time being utilized to inter human dead bodies and has not been so utilized for a period •in excess of five years from this date; snd WHEREAS, it appears that the cemetery in its present condition endangers the health, safety, comfort and welfare of the public, NOW, THERE~'ORE, BE I'T RESOLVED that this Board intends to declare the Chinese Cemetery described in Exhibit A abandoned as a place of future interment and to dedicatie it as a Pioneer Memorial Park after publication of this Resolution pursuan~ to the requirements of §8826 of the Health and Safety Code and the holding of a public hearing on the question, BE IT FURTHER RE50LVED that a public hearing r~rill be held on the question of abandonment of the Chinese Cemetery and dedication of it as a Pioneer Memorial.
