authority for local taxin g authority with respect to the financing
ot elementary and secondary educatzon, and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 85 would result in the availability of
only a few cen~ers for elementary and secondary educational administra-
tive services in Northern California, and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bi~~ 85 would reduce the amount of state
support for local education with the consequence that the rural areas
would not be ab~e to afford certain essential services.
NOW, THII2EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That this Board strongly opposes Assembly Bill 85 and
respectfully requests that the LegisZature defeat this proposed
legislation.
2. That a copy of'this Resolution be sent to the Honorable
Fred Marier, Senator, the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman, the
California State Department o~ Education and to such other persons as
this Soard may direct.

this 22nd. ~ay of Febraary, 1972, by the following vote:
