WHEREAS, the Butte Coun~.y Clerk has certa.fied to this Board
that on March 15, 1972, a f~PETITZON FOR CHARTER AMENDMENT" was
filed, and that said petition was duly signed by 4,219 qualified
electors; and
WHER~AS, said petition calls for the addition to the County
Charter o~ the following:
~ ARTICLE XIIT
"The Caunty of Butte shall establ.ish and maintain
a hospital. No res9.dent of this county shall be
denied medical or hospital care at such hospital
£or want of money."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDk~ED AND RESOLVED BY THE BOA1~D
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as follows:
1. That an election shall be held within the County of Butte
fnr the purpose of voting on the aforesaid Charter amendment.
2. That said election is eo be consolida~ed with the
statewide election to be held an June 6, 1972o Further, said
cansolidated elections shall be h eld in a~l respects as thou.gh
they were only one election.
3. That the measure be put on the ballot in a form
approved by the Butte County Counsel's Oftice.
PASSED AND ADOPTEB by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 21 day of March, 1972, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors IViadigan, 11~Iaxon, MeKil~op, Reynolds and Chairman
