WHEREAS, the County of Butte has supp~.ied a new fire house
£ox the citizens of the Palermo area, and
WHEREAS, the old fire house now stands vacant, and.
WHEREAS, there is a need ~or a community center to serve the
needs ot the people of the Palermo commu.nity, and
WHII2EA5, the citizens ot the community of Palermo have
exhibited a willingness and a desire to work together in the
utilization af this building for community benefits.
NOW, THEttEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this Board that:
1, This Board does designate the old Pa?.eimo fire house
located on Palermo Road as the Palermo Neighborhood Center to be
avai~able for the use of the people in the community.
2. That a building committee sha1.1 be appointed by the
Board of Supervisors consisting of nine representatives who sha11
represent a cross-section of the people of Palermo and that this
committee shall be charged with the responsibility of developing
and overseeing a plan for the most efficient utiiization of the
structure for the greatest bene~it of a11 the peaple of the community
o~ Palermo,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 25th day of ~~uly , I972, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisoxs Douthit, Ladd, Madigan, Maxon and
Chairman Gilman.
