and Park District, Durham Recreation and Park District, Feather River
Recreation and Park District, Paradise Recreation and Park Dis~ric~
and Richvale Recreation and Park District have each passed resolutions
calling elections in their respective districts to elect board members
on November 7, 1972 in their respective districts and have each requested
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte to order the consolida-
tion of the said special district board member elections with the Gene~al
Election to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 1972,
WHEREAS, the County Superintenden~ o~ Schools has called a
special election ta fill a vacancy on the Butte County Board of
Education for Trustee Area Number 2(the area comprising::the Oroville
Union High School District) and has adopted a resolution requesting
that the said election be consolidated with the General Election to be
held on Tuesday, November 7, 1972,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERET} AND RESOLVED by the Board of
Superviso~s of the Caunty of Butte, State of California as tollows:
1. That the board member elections ca~led by the Chico Area
Recreation and park Dist~ict, Durham Recreation and Park District,
Feather River Recreation and Park Distrfct, Paradise Recreation and
Park District and Richvale Recreation and Park District and by the
Butte County Superintendent of Schools to be held within their
respectiva jurisdictions on November 7, 1972 shall be and the same are
hereby consolidated with the sta~ewide Genera~ ~~ection to be held
November 7, 1972.
ORDER AND RESOLUTION PROVIDTNG FOR TI~E CONSOLIDATION 0~
SPECIAL DISTRICT AND ~OLTNTY BOARD OF ~DUCATION ELECTIONS
WITH THE GENERAL STATEWIDE EI.ECTION TO SE HELD NOVEMBER 7, 1972
2. That in each area affected by this consolidat~on order
the elections shall be held in all respec~s as thoagh there were only
one election and the County Clerk of Butte County is hereby ordered
and directed to provide accordingly within the respective territories
affected by said consolidation the election precincts, polling places
and voting booths ~or each of said elections hereby consolidated, and
to provide for only one set of election officers in each of the
precincts affected by this consolidation order,
3. That the County Clerk is further ordered and directed
to set forth in each form of ballot and samp~e ballot, to be used at
said .General Election, insofar as applicable, the ballot measure for
said board member elections, to mail to the qua~ified electors of such
special districts and of B~tte County Board of Education Trustee Area
Number 2 appropriate sample ballots and polling place cards signed
by said County Clerk relating to said board member elections and to
provide absent voter ballots for said General Election and said board
member elections consolidated therewith for use by qualified electors
of said areas who may be entitled thereto as provided by 1aw.
4. That the County Clerk shall canvass or cause to be
canvassed the retu~ns af said board member elections and shal~
certify such canvass of the vo~es cast for each candidate in sa~d
territories to the r espective recreation and park district boards of
directors and to the County Superintendent of Schools.
5. That the County Clerk is further authorize~ to charge
to said recreation and park districts and to the (bunty Superintendent
of Schools the expenses of the elections attributable to ~hem respectively.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte (Dunty Board of Supervisors
this 22nd day of August, 1972, by the fol~owing vote:
