HomeMy WebLinkAbout72-147WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is concerned for the hea~.th and welfare of the employees of the County of Butte, and, WHEREAS, the Board of Supervi.sors provides a compxehensive health, accident, major medical and ].ife insu~ance program for tl~e County employees, and, WHEREAS, the present carrier, New York Life Insurance Company, has announced a 12% rate increase in health insurance premiums effective October 1, 1972, and, WHEREAS, the New York Life Insurance Company has returned to the County of Butte a premium dividend in the amount of $63,851 for the contract year 7I~72, and, WHEREAS, it is the intention ot the Board ot Supervisors of the County of Butte to provide premium dividend sharing for the employees, the County and the contracting agencies to help offset the affect of the premium rate increase. NQW, TI-TEREFORE, B~ IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of ~he County of Sutte h ereby orders the County Auditor to estabiish a health insurance premium trust fund from which the Auditox will make adjustments to the premium dividend rate of the employee, ~he County and ehe contracting agencies which wi11 offset the rate increase requzred by the New Xork ~ife Insv.rance Company for the contract year 72-~73.
