RESOLUTION REQUEST~NG THE 1tETENTI0I~I
OF FUNDING FOR THE BUTTE COUNTY FAIR
WH~tEAS, the Butte County Fair, a~.so known as the Go3.den
Featl~er ~'aa.~ has had many years of successfuJ. operation,
WHEREAS, the Fair has over the years been a most valuable
adjunct to the economy of the County,
WHEREAS, the Fair has been a most successful vehicle for
the advancement of cultural pursuits in aur County,
WHEREAS, our Fair has also offered many benefits to the
youth of our County, giving them incentive to strive for excellence
in both agricultural and cultural activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this Board:
l. That this Board strongly opposes any endeavor to eliminate
the present funding structare of the Butte County Fai.r and respect~~._
fuliy se~bmit to the Legislature that it is in the public in~erestljany
legislation or administr~tive action proposed that would, as a practical
matter, effect the closing of our Fair, be defeated.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Honorable
Ronald Reagan, Governor, the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman and
the Honorable Fred Marler, Jr., Senator.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Super-
visors this 12tYr day of ^ Se~tember , 1972, by tha following vote:
