that contribt~.~ed materiall.y' to po7,l.ution of the air of Ca7.iforzxia; axzd
WI~EP~EAS~ Butte County has made great strides in its efforts ta comp~y
with this orderly phase out of public facil.ities which might contribute to the
air pollution; and
WHER;AS, Butte County has an orderly plan £or the compZetion o.£ its
solid waste disposal change from open burning sites to sanitary ~.andfill.s ~id
transfer stations; and
WHEREAS, Butte County has al.ready compl.eted the phase over ~'or 90~ of
its 107~000 population and has award°d contraets for transporting the soXid
waste from the remaining popul.ation areas of Butte County and has fl,u~.ded the
constrv.etion of thPSe sma11 sites which ase hereinaf-~er named and ~.ocated:

Has no co7lection serv~i.ce. Serves l,ass -~han ~,000 peopl,e and

NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED ~~.at Butte County does,request an
extension of' time fox the corcversion of' the above-mentioned sma17. waste disposaa.
sites to transfer stations for a pez~a,od of one (~) year from the clate of this
reso~ution. Butte County ~'ee~,s that this reso.lution is in order in viec,r of the
fact that a convexszon has been completed for 90~ of our pop~a.7.ation and it has
budgeted and funded mo~i.es and contxacted portions of the xemaining eonversions.
