advised the County of Butte of a$10,000 allocation of federal

WHEREAS the Director of Butte County Mental Health Services
has submitted to this Board an Inifiial Covnty Alcoholism Plan which
designates the Butte County Health De~artment as the agency with
sole authority for s~upervising the administration of the Cot~.nty
AZcoholism Plan and designates the Butte County Mental Health
Advisory Board as the advisory council to consult with the Butte
County Health Department in car~ying o~t the Coun~y Alcoholism P1an;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the a~oresaid Initia~
County Alcoholism Plan is hereby approved; ~he Butte County Health
Department is designated as the agency with sole authority for
supervising the County Alcoholism Plan; ~he Butte County Mental
Health Advisory Board is designated as the adv~sory council to
consult with the B~utte Cov.nty Health Department in carrying out
the Co~nty Alcoholism Plan and the acceptance of $10,000 of federal
foxmula grant funds for the impLementation of said Covnty Alcoholism
Plan is hereby approved.

Prior to hzs departure for Sacramento, Gerry Maguire
asked me to prepare a resolution for submi~sion to the Board
of S`upervisors to satisfy the requirements of the Department
o£ Mental Hygiene with regard to receipt of $10,040 of federal
formula grant funds ~o be used in a county alcohoiism program.
Attached a.s the original of that resolution which Z
prepared £rom the information which was made available to me.

prepared, the resolution be forwarded to yov.for placement on
the agendao I do no~ kn.ow ~ahether Dro Maguire has previously sub-
mitted the proposed county alcoholism plan to the Boardo In the event
he did not, I am attaching a copy of his June 20, 1972 letter to
Loran D. Archer wkkich in~ludes the plan.
