RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEME[~IIT AND AUTHORIZING
THE GI-IAT~..~T OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF
SUPIItVISOR5 TO E~ECUTE ON BE~IALF 0~' TIiE COU~ITY
OF BU'FTE
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butfie hereby approves the attached agreement between
the State of California and the County of Butte and hereby
authorizes the Chairman of this Board to execute same on behalf
of fihe County of Butte.
PASSEB AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors this 12th day of December , 1972, by the
following vote:

Pursuant to Section 2222 of the Agricultural Code, the DIl2ECTOR OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE,
STATE QF CALIFORNTA, hereinafter referred to as Director, and the COIR11'Y OF ~~~g
herina£ter re~'erred to ac County, acting by and through its Board of Supexva.sorE, hereby ~
agree e~ folJ.ows:
;1) Director and Connty agree thst it is their intent to provide for an increa~e ~f
the ~alar3~ of the County Agric~ltural Commissioner and to compensa~e County for services
per~ormed b,y the County Agrzcultural Co~nisszoner for the Department of ~'ood and Agricul-
ture of the State of Californie, for the purpose of securing more uniform and adequ'ate
enforcement of fhe pxovision~ of the Agricultural Code throughout the state, and to
otherwiae effectuate the purposec ~#' Sections 2221 through 2221+ of the Agricultural Code.

(2) Director heretiY agrees to pay to said County during the 1972-73 fiscal year a
maximum sum of three thou~and three hun@red and no~140 dollars (~3,300) calculated as followe;
Payment will be at the rate of $275 per month for each month the Agri.cultural Cor~iesioner's
no~ition is filled by a qualified person. I£ the po~ition is vacant 3Q consecutive days
or less, the annual psyment will nnt be reduced. A vacancy of more ~han 30 consecutive
days wi13. reduce the annua~ payment. Partisl months after the first 30 days of vacancy
will be treated as whole months in computing '~he xeduction. Appointment of a cuaZifi.ed
per~on to fill a vacancy shall not be at a lower monthly rate or range than the rate or
range e~tat~lished for the Commissioner's nosition. Appoin~ment to fill a vacancy ma,y be
for an inter9.m or fixed neriod, but .hall be of a qualified person.
(3) County agrees that during the term of this agreement, the Agricultiural Co:mnissioner's
base salary will not be reduced below the ba~e ~alary establ.ished for tha+ positi~n for
the raonth of Januar~r, 1,959.
~1+} County a~reea that during the term of thia agreement, the Agxi.cultural Commicsioner's
sal.ary will not be reduced to an amount ao as to allow the $3,300 payment to exceed two-
thirds of the salary.

~5) Peyment will be made at the end o~' said fiscal year upon ~ubmission of invoice
indicating perioda that tY;e po~ition of Agricultural Co~mnissioner was actually fiiled by
a quali.fzed person.
(o) T'~e term ~f thic agreement shall be frorn July i, 1972 througlz June 30, 1.973, ~ubject
to termination by either party at any time during the waid term upon giving not less than
30 days written notice to th2 o~her party. '
