HomeMy WebLinkAbout73-024Resolufion No. 73- 24 RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE LIME SADDZE RECREATION AREA WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has received formal notice ~rom the Department o£ Parks and 12ecreation of the State at California, dated January 24, 1973, to resume control of the Lime Saddle area, and WHEREAS, the Operating Agreement between ~he S~ate and the County, dated July l, 1969 provides that the State inay exercise such option at its discretion provided certain conditions are met, and WH~REAS, the establishment of the Lime Saddle recreation area has been an outstanding examp~.e of how the State and County government through coordinated action can provide badly needed faci3~ities ~or the general pubJ.z~'s use and bene£it, and WHEREAS, the Lime Saddle recreation area has been very successful and has far exceeded the a.nticipated public use and benefit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by ~h.is Board: 1. That this Board has no obj ection to the State's exercise of its option, and recognizing that the State has available to it much greater ~esources, administration an.d personnel, than the County to administer the recreation area for the benefit o~ the public, approves said State action sub~ect to satisfaction of all conditions set out in the aforementioned Operating Agreemen~. 2. That the County acknowledges that it has obtai.ned recoupment of the cost of the ].ocal access road. 3. That the County anticipa~tes that ~he State sha~1. obtain the approval and release of liability from Navigation and Ocean Development, the successor ageney to.the Harbors and Wafier- craft Department. 4. That on o~r behalf, as well as on behalf of the people of this County, we wish to express our sincere appreciation for the cooperation and assistance of the State agencies involved, ~heir direc~ors, and their employees, ~rithout which the Lime Sadd~e recreation area would not have been the tremendous success that it is, and further wish to expressly thank the Honorable ~red Marler and the Honorable Ray 3ohnson for their most effective participatian and assistance.
