WEiEREAS, to date no money has been appropriated for the
project, and
WHEREAS, But~e County, as weil as counties to the south
along the Sacramento River have again this win~er experienced
damage due ~o high f~ows in and from Cottonwood Creek, a.nd
WHERFAS, construction jobs are desperately needed in
this area of Northern California,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, ~that the Col~nwood
Dams 1]evelopment Committee reaffirms its support of ~he project and
urges that fu.nds be included in the 1974 ~'iscal year federa7. flood
control budget for a planning start on the Cottonwood Creek Fraject
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies o~ th~.s resolution be
sent to the Federa~. Off ice of Management and Budget, the U. S.
Army Corps of Engineers, Senators Cranston and Tunney, Congressman
Haxold T, "Bizz14 Johrzsan, State Department of Water Resources,
California Water Commission and the iT. 5. Bureau of Reclamation.
