cally inc~eased this past winter; and
WIiEREAS, the predator problem effects the economic and social
well being of the livestock industry, specifically, and local
economies generally; and
WHEREAS, predato~y animal damage to livestock is expected to
increase in proportion with this increased Coyote population; and
WHEREAS, the increasad Coyote population is due to the
restrictions placed an trapping on Federal and private lands and
prohibitions on the use of poison and Coyote Getters;
BE IT HEIZEBY RESOLVED that the Cali~ornia Department of
Food artd Agricu~ture review the entire predatory animal control
program with the intent of develoging humane and more effective
Coyote control measures, and that these measures be made immediately
available to predatory animal control personc~el in the Counties,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Bu.tte County Board of Supervisars
