Ray Cudney, Manager of the Butts County Employees~ ASSOQ~a~iOn~ pro,-
vided for an xntention by the Board of Supervisors to increase
County ~~ployee's salaries based upon the consumer pric~ index, and
WHEREAS, t~is Board believes that such adjustments wi~l be
fair and equitable to the employees and our taxpayers as well.
NOLd, THEREFOHE, BE IT RESO~VEB by this Board that it declares
its intention to do the following:
The wages paid all county employees durzng fiseal year 1975
and 1976 will be adjusted on the first day of the first pay period in
July of 1974 and July of 1975 by the percentage of change shown ~n the
United States Bureau of Labor Statistics 1967 Base Year Consumer
Price Index for United States Al1 Items occurring between April l, 1973
through March 31, 1974 and April 1, 1974 through March 31, 1975
respectively. Cost-of-living adjustments shall be made by factoring
the county salary range schedule in effect at the time by the cost-
of-living percentage increase or decrease to the nearest one ten~h
of one percent and rounding off the bi-weekly pay rate to the nearest
whole dollar amount.
A salary ordinance refZecting the cost-of-living change during
each year involved shall be presented to the Board of Supervisors by
the Administrative Officer ~n sufficient time to enable increases or
decreases tn become effective on the dates stated herein.
Cnst-ofwliving increases stated herein sha11 not abrogate
the right of the employee representa~ives to meet and confer with
county representatives on wage proposals to adjustments or correct
specific class inequities.
