Butte initiatied preliminary proceedings for the annexation of
certain described ter~itory to County Service Area 18 by passing,
adopting and filfng with the Butte Covnty Local Agency Formation
Commission Resolution No, 73-82 and
WHEREAS the Butte Gounty Local Agency Formation
Commission, after appropriate proceedings, adopted Resolution
73-9 on.,7une 7, 1973 approving said aru~exation and foun.d,
d~termined and resolved as fo~.lows:
1. That the exterior boundaries of the territory to
be annexed are as described in Exhibit'A'attached hereto and made
a part hereof by this referenee,
2, The territory proposed for annexation fs inhabited,
3, That the following destinctive short~form designation.
shall be used throughout the proceedings: I.AF~ No 73-13, proposed
arulexation to Cor.snty Service Area Noo 180
WH.EREAS the reason for this annexation proposal is to
provide street lighting for the described territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as:follows in comp3.iance
with the requ.ire~nents of the District Reorganization Act and the
determinations of the Local Agency Formation Commission:
1. It is the intention<_ot this ~Board to annex rhe
territory hereinbefore described to County S~rvice Area No. 18.
2. A public hearing s?~all be held on this proposed
annexatior~~on July 24, 1973, at 1:30 pom. in the Boa~d of S~3pervisors
room, Courthouse, Oro~i~,le, Californ.ia.

3a Any interested person desiring to make wxitten
p~otest against the prvposed annexation shall do so by signed,
vrritten conununication filed with the C~erk of the Board of
Supervisors at the Courthouse, Oroville, California no~ ~ater than
the hour set for hearing, Any such written protest by a landowner
shall contain a descrigtion sufficient to identify the Iand owned
by him; a protest by a voter shal~ contain the residential address
of such voter.
4o The Clerk zs directed to certify to the passage
of this resolution; to have it published once each week for two
successive weeks in the Orovi~~e Merc~ry Register~ the first such
publication to be at ~east 15 days prior to the date of hearing;
to post a copy of this resolution on the bulletin board outside the
Board of Supervisoxs room, suCh posted notice to commence at least
15 days prior to the date set for hear~ng and continue until the
time of the hearing; and to mair a copy of this resolution, pos~age
prepafd, to each land owner owning land in the territory proposed
for annexation and to all persons and counties, cities or districts
which have heretofore filed a written request for special notice
with the Clerk, such mailing to be completed at least 15 days
prior to the date o~ the hearingo
