WHEREAS, the Board of S~.pervisors is concerned tor the health
an.d wel~are of the emp7.oyees of the County of Butte, a.nd,
WHEREAS, the Bo~rd of Supervisors provides a comprehensive
health, accident, ma,jor medical and lifie insurance program for the
County emp~.oyees, and,
WHEREAS, ~I~e Board of Supervisors established by Resolution
72-147 an employee health insurance trust ftind using premium
dividends from co.ntract year 71-72 fio offset insurance rate increases
for employees, County, and contracting agencies, and,
WHEREAS, the funds remazni.ng in the trust fund permit
expansion into contract year 73-74, and,
WHEREAS, it is the a~ntez~tion of the Board of Supervisors
ot th.e Cou.nty of Butte to continue premi~tn dividend sharing for the
employees, the County and ~he contracting agencies to help offset
the affect of the premium rate increase and to increase life insu~ance
coverage to County lcey-managemen.t persoxit~el.
NOW, THEREFpRE, BE Ix RESOLVED ~h.at ~he Board of Supervisors
of the County of Bu.t~ hereby o~rders the Cotui~.y Auditor ~o continue
th.e health insurance premi.um trust fund f~om which the Audztor wi3.1
make adjus~tments to the premi~m di,vidend rate of the employee, the
County and the contracting agencies which will offset the rate
increase req~i~ed by the New York Life Insurance Company for the
contract year 72-73 and Caunty key-management life insurance coverage,
BE IT FURTHER R~SOLVED that the premium sharing trust fu.nd
sha7.J. remain in e~~'ect and affsetting pxemium adjustments made until.
the trus~ fund is exhaasted or cantrac~ year 73W74 expires, whichever
occurs firsto
