COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNTA
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS

WH~REAS, the County of Butte has traffic signaLs installed at
various locatians in the County; and
WIiEREAS, the County does not have adequate personnel or equipment
~or the maintenan.ce of such traf€ic signals;
NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE ~T RESOLVEb that the State o£ California, Degar~ene
o~ Transportation, be requested to maintain said signal system at an .est7.mated
cost of $1,500.00 for tihe 1973-74 fiscal year.
BE IT EURTHER RESOLVED ChaC the following "Save k[axmless" provisions
is approved by the Board i.n connecCion with such maintenance:
"It is expressly understood and agreed by the County that the _
8tate of California and i~s officexs and its employees shali
not be answerable or accountable in any manner for ~.njuries
to or the death of persons or for any damage to property re-
sulting from the operation of or the fai7.ture to maintain the
traffic sign.als. ~
"The County agrees to indemnify and save harmless the State of
California and its officers and employees from a11 suits,
actions ar claims of any character brought as a consequence
of the operation of or the ~ailure to maintain the traffic
signals."
BE ZT FURTHEit RESOLVEA that Che County wi11 deposit sufficient funds
not to exceed $I,500.00 with the Department of Transportation for the main-
tienance of said signals dnring ~he 1973-74 fiscal year.
