Vehicle Trust Fund established in sub@ivision (b} of Sectfon 9254.7
of the ilehicle Code to az~y county which establishes pursuant to
Vehicle Code Section 2~u660 procedures for the abatemen~C and rEmoval
as public nuisances of any abandoned vehicles or parts thereof,
to ca~ry out such procedures; and
WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the Coutzty o~' Butte
adopted Ordinance No. 1363. pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 22660
addi~ag Article XII to Ghapter 14 of the Butte County Code
es~tablishing proced~~es for the abatement and removal as public
nuisa.aces of abandoned, wrecked, dismant].ed ox inoperative
vehicles or parts tk~ereof; and
WHEREAS the Boaxd of 5upervisors of the County of Bu.tte
desires to enter into an agreetne~t wa.tk~ the Aepa~tmecxt of Ca].ifornia
Highway Patrol for participat3.on in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatem~t
program and for ~he receipt of funds pursuant thereto far carrying
out the said abatement and removal procedures.
NOW, 1HEREF4RE, B~ TT RE50LV~] that this Board hereby
calls for a contract with the Department of California Highway
Patrol for participation by the County of I~itte in the Abandaned
Vehicle Abatement program and authorizes the Director of Publi.c 4Torks
to negotia~e such a con~Cract icaith the Cali.fornia Highway Patrol,
sub3ect to approval and execution by th~s Board.
