WHEREAS, this Board was grieved to learn of the death of
DAN L. BEEBE, president of the Qroville Mercury Register,
W~IEREAS, DAN L. BEEB~ was in the newspaper business in
the Oroville area since 1927; and
WHEREAS, DAN L. BEESE was an outsta~ding community leader;
and
WHEREAS, DAN L. BEEBE was active in numerous organizations.
He was president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Ra~ary Ciub,
the Fellows Club and was a Master Masono He had been president
of the Calitornia Newspaper Publishers Association, and a member of
the advisory committee of the Calif orn.i.a Master Riding and Hiking
Trai1.
NOW, TIIEREFOR~, BE IT RESOLV~D by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:

1, That said Board hereby memoral.izes i~ts appreciation
of the meri.torious servi,ces rendered to the City of O.roville and the
County of Butte by DAN L. BEEBE during h.is lifetime.
2e That the condolences and heart~e7.t sympathy of this

Board be extended to his wife Marie/and tha~ the Clerk of this Board
forward a certified copy of this resolution to her.
3o That the regu~.ar meeting of this ~oax~d held on
