FOR COUNTY OFFICERS AND Er~PLOYEES
WHEREAS, 9.t is desirable that the poiicy of the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte in relation to travel by counYy officers and emplayees
on county business be revised,
NOW, THEREFORE, B~ IT RESOLVED that SecCion 2 0£ the Resolution 73-138
be amended to read as folZows:
Section 2. Method of Travel. County cars shali be used whenever
possible and Co the extent available for travel w3thin the County. Ea.ch person
who uses a priva~ely owned vehicle on County business shall file an affidavit
certifying that there is liability insurance in effect in the sum o£ not less
than $15,000 ~or bndily injury to one person, $3Q,000 for bodily ~.njury to two
or more persons and $5,000 for property damageo Such affidavits shall be on file
~~ith the Auditor.
For travel outside the County, if the destination a.s under 400 miles,
travel may be per~ormed by public carrier, by county car, or by przvate car if a
countiy car is not available. Zf the destination is over 400 ma.les, travel sha3.1
normally be performed by public carriero Exceptions may occur when schedules
make this impractical, where more than one person i.s traveling to the same
destination, or where law enforcement o££9.cers and prabation officers are trans-
porting persons in custody. Aepartment heads msy requisition travel by public
carrier to the Purchasing Officer.
Passed and adopted by the Butte County Board of Supervisars of ~he
County of Sutte, State of California, this ZOth day of November, 1973 by ~
