WHEREAS~ the Boaxd of Supervisors has received a reques~
from Thomas E. Evans, Butte County Super~n~endent of Schools,
which request is attached hereto as Exhibit "A'~ anfl incorporated
herein as if set f'orth in full.
IVOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by thas Board as f'ollows:
Tha~ a hearing will be held pursuant to Education Code
Sections 2368 and 236g on February 26, Z97~-~- at 2:00 p.z¢., Board
of Supervisors Chambers, County Administration Building, Oroville,
Calzfornia~ to consider a transfer of territory from the Pioneer_
Union School District to the Oroville School District. ~'he territory
to be so transferred is described as:
~~Commencing at the quarter sec~~.on corner between
Section36, Township 20 North~ Range 4 East~ and Section l,
Township 19 North, Aange LI- East, M.D.M.; thence north
on half sec~ion line one--half mile to the center of saicl
Section 36; thence east three and ona-half miles on
half sectior~ lines to the guarter section corner between
Sections 33 and 3~, Township 20 I~orth~ Range 5 East;
thence south one-hal.f mile along section line to ~he
Souti~ Fork o~' the Feather River and present Oroville
School Dis~rict boundary Zine."

Pursuant ~eo Se ction 2363.5 of the Education Code, State of California,
thc Gocer.~_ny Boa~d of the Orovz.7.ie Schoo? District has set ~ha dat~, time
and place for a hearing on tFie pet.ztion submitted to the County Svperinten-~
dent of Schools, proposing a change in a portion of the boundarg line De~ween
the Pioneer Union School .i~istr~ct and the Oroville Schoo.i District.
Said hearinq wi1l be held on Thursday, December 27, 1973, in ihe IRulti-
puz'pose Room of the Eastside SchooZ, Iocated at 2775 Ya.rd Street, Oroville,
beginn.ing at 7:00 o'clock p,m. A map of the Pioneer Union Schoo.i bistrict,
showing the area pxoposed to be changed to the OrovilZe School IJistrzct,
ti~ill be available at the hearing.
Said Section 2363.5 further p.rovzdes that: °At the hea~ing, th~ peti-
tioners and any othes intes~sted pe'rsors sha11 be given an opportunity to
p.resent their vieo-rs on the peLition. Tne governing board then shall. either
approve or deny the petition." Refererce to L-he governing board in the
previous sentenc~ zs t~~at of the Orovzlle School Distrzct. Upon completion
of the hearing, said Governing Board sha11 then return t.he petitl.on, together
with a notice of ies action, to tne Covnty Superin~enden~ of Schools.
