WHEI3EAS, the Board of Supervisors recognizes the need to kzave
weJ.1-defined procedures in the area o~' publ.ic employer-empl.oyee relation.s,
and,
WH~REAS~ Senator Collier has introduced Sena~e Bill 2133 which
is designed to establish orderl.y procedures ~'or public employer-etnployee
rel,ations and w3.11 eliminate cos~ly an.d annoying public employee strikes,
and,
WfiEREAS~ Sena~e Bi~1 2~33 does retain the right for public
emp].oyees ~o have a strong voice in determining ~heir wages and working
conditions,
NOW? THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED~ ~he Board of Supervisors
endorses Senate Bil~ 2~33 introduced by Senator Rando~ph Collier which
wa.ll en.act the Public Service Employees' Relations Act in the State of
California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors rec~uest
~he State Legislature to give their support to S~ 2~33.
