and between the COUNTY OF BUTTE {Hereinafter calEed the "Couney"), and the
, STATE OF CALIFQRNIA, Department of Fish and Game, (Hereinafter called the

W I T N E 5 S E T H: - --

WHEREAS, the State is engaged in an investigation of largemvuth bass
in Orovilie Reservoir and other waters in tihe State of Califqr~ia, and
1JHEREAS~; an integral part of this investigation is tagging and releasing
of largemouth bass in order to determine rat~s o~F angler harvest and, .
b3HE;~~AS, Che sucLess of this phase of the ir~vestigatian is dependent
upon the return nf the largemouth bass tags by anglers and upon a determinarion
of the praportion of tags that are recovered by angiers but not returned to
the State, and,
~ ;~JH~REAS, the payment of money for the return of fish tags is known to
~assure a more complete return, and,
~•, 1~H~REAS, the Caunty is loca~ed in a center of largemouth bass sport
~fisheries and wishes to caoperate with the State in canserving the high
ewnomic and recreationat values of these fisheries, and
1JHEREAS, the County has a fish and game propagation f~nd from whith ~
expenditures are made for the prapagation and conservation of fish or game,
or borh, under the diraction of the Bvard of Supervisors; and
1dtfEREAS, "tiie Gounty desires to expend from said fish and gatne propagatiorr
fund for the purposes herainafter expressed,
i N04J, TffER~FORE, IT 1S MEITUALLY AGREE~ by and befween the parties hereto
ias follows:
I 1. The County wii~ pay on or before June 30, tg74, by Gounty warrant

to the State the sum af FIUE HUNQRED DOLLARS ($500.00-),
~ 2. The State evill receive said sum of FIVE HUiVDRED DQLLRRS ($5QOo00}
and ho-d in a trust account.

3. 7he-Stata wi-1~ Chereafter tag a n~mber of:largemouth bass which,
in its judgement, is sufficient for the study. Qf this Rumber of tags;=•a,
number of~ tags marked "-reward!' wi 11 be i.nc~uded• in numb~r as covered by'~the~~ ~~ ~•-=
a~o~nt held in said trust account.
( 4, The State will disburse f rom said accour~t, at the raCe of FiVE

~DOLLARS ($5~.Q0) per tag to eacfi and every person reCurning to the State a
tag accompanied with information, accepYable to tl,e 5tate, in accordance
with instruction issued by the State, The Stata will te~l recipients of
these disbursemenes of°the purpose of the tagging program end the contrib~t~on
the eoun~y is malcing for the success of said program. ~
5>. When, at the conclusion of the tagging study, the State 8etermines
that a11 gossible tag r'eturns have been completed, the then undisbursed monias
remaining in said trust account will be returned to the County.
