WI~REA5, the B~tte County Board of 5upervisors, desires
to supplement the county fire fighting services through the use of
volunteer fireman and,
WHIIZEAS, the Bosrd of ~spervisors has es~ablished volv.nteer
fire companies in vaxious areas of ~he Coun.ty, and
WHEREAS, inthe past the volunteer fire figh~ers have been
compensated ~t the rate of $2.50 per drill or fire as a means of
rei.rnbursing travel and ofiher incidentai out-of-pocket expense, and
WHEREAS, the effects of ~Che Fair Labor Standards Act on
p'ubli~ employment now makes it neeessary to review the compensation
status of the volvntear firemen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 12ESOLVED that the Butte County
Board of Supervisors authorize volunteer fixemen to be reimbursed fox~
inciden~a]. expenses incurred in the course af theix volunteer fire
service i.n the amount of $2.50 ~or each fire or fire dril~. attended.
Claims for rea.mbursement sh.all be authorized by the District Ranger
of the Division of Forestry on a form and in a manner as prescribed
by the Courr.ty Audi.tor.
