On J~e 11~ 197~, there was presented to the Board of
Superva.sors of the Coux~~y of Butte at a regular meeting of the Board~
a petition for the propos~d incorparatiorz of a general 1aw city to be
kn.own as the City of Paradise.
The t~rritory clescribed in the pe~i.~ion consists of a portion
o~ the County containing not I.ess than 500 inhabitants~ and is not
incorporated as a city;
~he C~erk of the Board asce~tained tha~ the petition was
signed by the xequzs~te number of q~.alified signers and ~hat it
accurately described the boundaries of the proposed city;
The Board adopted an order fixing an amount of money necessary
to defray the costs of pu~~.ication of ~he petition and the no~ice of
election and the proponents deposited this amouzit of money with the
C1erk;
At i~s next regular meeting on Ju1y 23, ~g74, ~he baard fixed
the time for a heaxing on the petition and the Cl.erk ~ave notice of
h~aring on the pe~ition as required by law;
On August 13~ 197~+, the petition came on for hearing and
the?~e were not filed wi~h the Board written protests to the propased
incorporation signed by the oumers of land wi~hin the boundaries repre-
senting ~1 percent of the total assessed valuation o~' the ~and. within
~he boundaries.
IT IS FOUNB~ DETEi-~Zt~IN~D~ AND ORDERED B~ THE BOARn OF
SUPERUISORS as follows:
~. Wri~ten p~otests to the proposed incarporation represent-
irig 5~ percent af the total assessed valua~ion of the land within the
boundaries of the proposed city urere not fiZed with the Board;
2. The Board finds and determines that written requests for
exclusion were filed, and there were oral requests for exclusion of
certain propertzes and the Board~ after receiving evidence and consider-
ing the matter~ finds that the requests for changes in boundaries should
be denied and that the boundaries as presented in the petition should
be fixed as presented;
3. The boundaries of the proposed City of Paradise as estab-
lished are proper~ and are defined as described in ~xhibit "A" attached
to this resolution and incorporated in it by this reference;
~. The Board determines the number of inhabitants residing
within the bolu~daries ~o be apgrox~mately 20~d~0.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors o~ the County
of Butte on Au~ust 1 , 19~4 by ~he following vote:
