HomeMy WebLinkAbout74-112Resolufion No. RESOLUTION REQUESTING LEGISLATION TO AMENl7 REVENUE A~ID TAXATION CODE SECTION 221fi ~REAS; the Board of Supervisors of Butte Covnty did not levy a property tax rate far fire pxofectior~ purposes pursuant to Sectaon 25643 of the Governmen~ Code in the base tax years ~.971-72 and 1972-73; and ~dHEREAS, ~he fi~e pxotection services for those years were paid for from funds received from sales taxes in the unincorporated areas affeCted; and WHEREAS, the cost of providing ~ire protection services continues to escalate, one major cause thereof being recent Federal legislation re hours of employment, etc., and. W~IE12EA5, equity for all taxpayers in the eounty, whether in unincorporated or incorporated areas, requires review of whether ox not to pay for alI fire protection services ou~ af sa~.es tax revenues; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY ~ BOARD OF SUPERVISQtS as ~oiiows: 1.
