WHEREAS, there is within the boun,daries of the County of
Butte a cemetery known as the Forbestown Cemetery, which cemetery is
described in Exhibit "A" and was historically utilized as a
cemetery in the Forbestnwr~ axea from as early as 1850.
WHEREAS, it appears tha~ said cemetery is not at the
present time being utilized to inter human dead bodies and has not
been so utilized for a period in excess of 5 years £rom this date,
and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte received title to said
cemetery in 1934 and the Boa~rd of Supervisors accepted title
thereto on December 7, 1934.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board intends
to declare the Forbestown Cemetery, described in Exhibit 'yA",
abando.ned as a place of future interment and to deda.cate zt as a
Pioneer Memorial Park after publication and/or posting of this
resolution pursuant to the requirements of ~ect~.on 8826 of the
Health and Safety Code, and the holding of a public hearing on the
question.
BE IT FUR~HER RESOLVED that a public hearing wi3.1 be held
on the questian of the ded~.cation of the Forbestown Cemetery as a
Pioneer Memorial k'ark an November 19, 1974 at 11:00' a;m: in the Board
of Supervisors Room, County Administrat~.on B~xilding, Oroville,
California.
BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be
published by the Clerk of this Board in accordance with Section 8826
of the Health and Safety Code.
